How it works
Pricing you can check, not a score you have to trust
Most software comparison sites rank tools for you and ask you to believe the ranking. OpenDecision does something narrower and more useful: it reads what vendors publish, records where and when it read it, and lets you filter that against the constraints you actually have.

What happens to the catalog
We read the vendor's own pages
Pricing is captured from the vendor’s public pages, including the interactions that hide it: monthly and annual toggles, seat-band selectors, currency switchers. A price that only appears after clicking “billed annually” is still a published price, and missing it is how comparison sites end up quoting the wrong number.Every number keeps its receipt
Each price is stored with the URL it came from and the date it was read, and that stamp travels with the number onto the page. If a figure looks wrong, the page it came from is one click away.Structure is preserved, not flattened
Billing period and contract commitment stay separate facts, because “$9 per user per month, billed yearly” is not a $9 month-to-month price. Seat bands, included allowances and overage rates are kept as their own values rather than folded into one headline figure.Gaps stay gaps
Where a vendor genuinely publishes no price, the page says so. Nothing is estimated, averaged, or converted between currencies, because a converted price is not a sourced price.
What happens when you decide
You describe the constraints that are real for you: how many seats, what budget, whether you can sign an annual contract. The platform filters the catalog against them and shows what clears the bar, with the price and its source next to each result.
The decision pages are the same mechanism run against common questions, computed fresh from live pricing each time the page loads rather than written down once and left to age.
What this is not
- Not a ranking. We do not publish a scored leaderboard of the category. Doing that honestly needs feature and specification data we do not yet hold, and producing one anyway would mean inventing the inputs.
- Not reviews. There are no star ratings or user reviews here, and no aggregate score standing in for them.
- Not pay-to-play. No vendor can pay to appear, to rank higher, or to be left out.
- Not a quote. These are published list prices. What you negotiate is between you and the vendor.
